Halot design - this is how the idea came about

The autumn ship trip in 2018 to Sweden was just ending and it was only about an hour's journey to the port of Helsinki. The phone had found the network and started working.
While walking from breakfast to pack things in the cabin, I received a call from an unknown number. I decided to answer. This phone call brought melanoma into my life.

I had gone three weeks earlier to remove a mole and
left the doctor believing this was a routine mole removal.
Actually, I had completely forgotten that the mole had been removed.

The first weeks after the cancer diagnosis felt like living in a fog.
As a mother of two small children and an entrepreneur, everyday routines had to be maintained and food had to be prepared. On the other hand, at least in my case, these everyday routines kept my world together and I noticed that I enjoyed them more than before.

Fortunately, in my case, things started rolling quickly and about five weeks after the diagnosis, an operation was performed, samples from the lymph nodes were taken, and the certainty that the cancer had not spread was confirmed.
I considered myself lucky and felt that I came up short.

Although I feel that I am completely healthy, this was the beginning of a new life with melanoma, which we have been going through together for several years now.
In this new life, the lovely sun also became a partial enemy.

I have always been an outdoors person and I also decided to remain that way from now on. I decided that I would still enjoy the first rays of spring sun and the wonderful moments of summer outside.
I only consider UV radiation. The easiest way for me was to wear clothes that protect from the sun.

I started searching the Internet for information about UV-protected clothes and online stores. This was easier said than done. The supply was really scarce and there were few models. That's when I came up with the idea to make myself UV-protected clothes for sports and exercise.

I shared the idea with a few friends and at the same time I got feedback from them that the clothes should be sold more widely. This is where the idea of owning a UV-protected clothing brand came from.

This is how Halot design was born.
The Halot design brand has been built for several years. The goal was to create
Scandinavian high-quality UV-protected clothing brand, where inspiration is taken from Finnish nature.

I hope that in the future I can share information about the dangers of UV radiation and be part of a better tomorrow!
