What is UPF?

UPF stands for Ultraviolet Protection Factor and is a rating system that indicates the UV (ultraviolet) protection offered by fabrics. UPF measures how much of the sun's UV radiation the fabric absorbs or "prevents" effectively protecting the skin underneath. UPF ratings range from 15 to 50, and a higher UPF rating means better protection. Clothing rated UPF 50+ provides excellent UV protection.

Our clothes have a UPF +50 rating. This classification means that only 2% of the sun's harmful UVA and UVB rays penetrate the fabric. This gives good protection to your skin! The UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) classification is in accordance with the standard AS/NZS 4399:1996.
